By creating a SecuredStays account or using the SecuredStays platform in any capacity, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
SecuredStays is a technology platform that provides identity verification, background screening coordination, and housing matching services connecting travel healthcare professionals with verified property owners. SecuredStays is not a landlord, property manager, real estate broker, escrow agent, employer, or housing authority.
SecuredStays does not own, manage, control, or inspect any property listed on the platform. All lease agreements are entered into directly between the traveler and the property owner. SecuredStays is not a party to any lease agreement and assumes no obligations under any lease.
SecuredStays does not collect, hold, transmit, or control any rental funds, security deposits, or escrow funds. All financial transactions related to placements are handled exclusively by the approved third-party escrow provider.
SecuredStays does not conduct background screening directly. All traveler screening is performed by a licensed third-party consumer reporting agency regulated under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). SecuredStays is not a consumer reporting agency.
SecuredStays verifies both sides of every placement. Property owners are required to pass criminal background screening and property ownership verification before any listing is approved. The Verified Owner badge on a listing confirms the owner has completed all required verification steps.
Traveler verification is a five-part process evaluated against two membership pathways. The five verification components are: (1) identity confirmation via Stripe Identity, (2) criminal background check via a licensed CRA, (3) eviction history check via a licensed CRA, (4) credit evaluation via a licensed CRA, and (5) assignment verification via direct contact with the traveler's agency recruiter. Standard Verified Access requires all five components to be satisfied. Enhanced Assurance Access requires components 1, 2, 3, and 5 — the credit component is received, stored, and not applied as a gatekeeping criterion for this pathway.
SecuredStays does not display profile photographs or full legal names of any user. Users are identified by their platform username. This design decision is intentional and reflects SecuredStays' commitment to fair housing principles — verification status, not personal appearance or identity, is the basis for all platform interactions.
You must be at least 18 years of age to create a SecuredStays account. By registering, you represent that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may not share your account with any other person. Any activity conducted through your account is your sole responsibility.
SecuredStays reserves the right to refuse registration, suspend, or terminate any account at its sole discretion for violation of these Terms, applicable law, or platform policies.
Accounts are non-transferable. You may not sell, transfer, or assign your SecuredStays account to any other person or entity.
Background screening coordinated through the platform is governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). SecuredStays coordinates traveler screening through a licensed third-party consumer reporting agency but is not itself a consumer reporting agency.
Traveler screening evaluates five independent components: identity confirmation, criminal background, eviction history, credit profile, and assignment verification. Each component returns a distinct result. Standard Verified Access requires all five components to be satisfied. Enhanced Assurance Access requires identity, criminal, eviction, and assignment to be satisfied — the credit component is not applied as a gatekeeping criterion for this pathway.
Travelers may elect either pathway before or after screening results are returned. Travelers who initially elect Standard Verified Access and do not satisfy the credit component may switch to the Enhanced Assurance pathway at their sole discretion, with no penalty, no re-screening of criminal or eviction history, and no deadline. Path switches are limited to one per placement cycle. The platform does not guide, pressure, or funnel any traveler toward a particular pathway.
All screening results are stored on the traveler's account for 90 days from the date screening is completed. After 90 days, all five verification components reset to pending status and re-screening is required before the traveler may initiate new housing connections. Active placements in progress at the time of expiry are not terminated — the expiry affects only new connection requests. Re-screening expiry is communicated as a neutral administrative reset, not a failure or adverse finding.
If screening information contributes to a denial of platform access, SecuredStays will provide the affected applicant with a written adverse action notice containing: (1) notice that screening information was a contributing factor, (2) the name, address, and contact information of the screening provider, and (3) the applicant's right to obtain a free copy of their screening report and to dispute inaccurate information directly with the provider.
SecuredStays communicates all screening outcomes to property owners only as 'Verified' or 'Verified — Enhanced Assurance.' No credit score, criminal record detail, eviction detail, or other consumer report information is shared with property owners at any time.
Applicants who believe their screening results are inaccurate must dispute directly with the screening provider identified in their adverse action notice. SecuredStays cannot modify, override, or correct screening results.
SecuredStays operates in full compliance with the Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. § 3601 et seq.) and all applicable state and local fair housing laws. Neither SecuredStays nor any property owner using the platform may discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
SecuredStays applies objective, consistently applied verification criteria uniformly to all applicants regardless of any protected characteristic.
SecuredStays' dual-pathway verification system — Standard Verified Access and Enhanced Assurance Access — is designed to maximize housing access for all qualified travel professionals regardless of credit history. No traveler is denied platform access solely on the basis of credit standing, provided criminal and eviction history criteria are satisfied.
SecuredStays intentionally does not display profile photographs or full legal names of any user on the platform. Property owners evaluating connection requests see only a traveler's verified status, username, and platform-verified credentials. This design is a deliberate anti-discrimination measure intended to ensure that housing decisions are based on verified qualifications, not personal appearance, perceived identity, or other characteristics unrelated to tenancy fitness.
Property owners who use the SecuredStays platform agree that all connection decisions will be made on the basis of verified traveler credentials and platform criteria only. Discriminatory rejection of a verified traveler based on any protected characteristic is a violation of these Terms and applicable law and may result in immediate account termination and referral to applicable authorities.
SecuredStays verifies property ownership and reviews submitted photographs, but does not physically inspect, certify, or warrant the condition of any listed property. Verification of ownership is not a representation that the property is habitable, safe, or accurately described.
Travelers are strongly encouraged to conduct their own inspection of any property prior to move-in and to document the property's condition with dated photographs and video upon arrival.
SecuredStays assumes no responsibility for property defects, habitability issues, mold, pest infestations, utility failures, structural damage, or any other physical condition of any listed property.
SecuredStays does not process, hold, or disburse any rental payments, security deposits, or escrow funds. All such transactions are handled exclusively by the approved third-party escrow provider.
Membership fees paid to SecuredStays are non-refundable once the verification process has been initiated.
All placements on SecuredStays require escrow funding through the approved provider within 48 hours of confirmed lease execution. SecuredStays does not accept, transmit, or hold any escrow funds directly.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SECUREDSTAYS LLC, ITS PARENT COMPANY GRIMAXCA ENTERPRISES LLC, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR ANY OTHER LOSS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SECUREDSTAYS' TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO SECUREDSTAYS IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SecuredStays LLC, Grimaxca Enterprises LLC, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; (d) your interactions with any other user of the platform; or (e) any dispute between you and another user.
SecuredStays reserves the right to assume exclusive control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate fully with SecuredStays in asserting any available defenses.
THE SECUREDSTAYS PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE' BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
SECUREDSTAYS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT: (A) THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; (B) ANY LISTING, VERIFICATION RESULT, OR SCREENING OUTCOME IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE; OR (C) ANY PROPERTY LISTED ON THE PLATFORM IS SAFE, HABITABLE, OR ACCURATELY DESCRIBED.
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY — IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
Any dispute between you and SecuredStays arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform that cannot be resolved through good-faith negotiation within 30 days shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND YOUR RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
For any matters not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida.
SecuredStays reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
SecuredStays may suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or applicable law.

SecuredStays LLC ("the Company") reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, and for any reason or no reason whatsoever, including but not limited to: (a) actual or suspected violation of these Terms of Service, the Traveler Policy, or the Property Owner Policy; (b) conduct that the Company, in its sole judgment, determines to be harmful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or disruptive to the Platform, its users, or its operations; (c) providing false, inaccurate, or misleading information during registration, verification, or at any time during use of the Platform; (d) failure to maintain verification standards required by the Platform; (e) any activity that exposes the Company to legal liability or reputational harm; or (f) any business reason, including but not limited to capacity management, risk mitigation, or platform integrity.
The Company shall not be liable to you or any third party for any suspension or termination of your account or access to the Platform. Termination does not entitle you to any refund of fees paid, except where required by applicable law. Any obligations you have accrued prior to termination — including indemnification obligations, payment obligations, and representations made during your use of the Platform — shall survive termination. The Company reserves the right to refuse service to any person or entity at any time for any reason. The Company's decision to suspend or terminate an account is final and not subject to appeal except at the Company's sole discretion.
By creating a SecuredStays account, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms of Service in full. This agreement is binding upon account creation and for the duration of your use of the platform.
